Stuff we like : Paul Salveson

Paul Salveson, Between the Shell, 2013

Salveson’s idea of the world and the things it contains is different from his contemporaries. His compositions are outside the classical canons. His mind seems to be beautifully following a different order of things and perspective. The domestic and banal objects are put together in surreal and unexpected constructions, yet they have a great lightness and humor. We look at a bush of ivy covered by a duvet, an army of buns surrounding what appears to be a stretched dough, a pink towel wrapped around a block forming an altogether alien thing. Everything is so bizarre and curious, we love it!
